Information Technology is a critical enabler for (almost) every service provided by Serco to our customers, and increasingly the transformation of business processes is heavily dependent on the effective and innovative use of IT. In many cases the proposed approach to IT delivery is becoming a key differentiator in bids, particularly where it underpins efficiency, competitive differentiation, new ways of working and cost saving goals.
The Divisional Enterprise Architect will be accountable for supporting the creation and delivery of the Divisional IT Strategy, through collaboration with the UK & Europe IT Directors. It is important that the IT Strategy is a reflection and response to the Divisional & Business Unit Business Strategies, and an Enterprise Architecture methodology helps to ensure that this is the case. You will be responsible for adopting/creating a pragmatic Enterprise Architecture methodology and governance.
You will ensure that a roadmap of planned change is produced as part of the IT Strategy and this will help is to plan, coordinate, prioritise and direct our investments and resources. It also provides a leader for demand planning, helping our Shared Service and other partners to understand future demand against which they will be requested to respond.
What you need to do the role
A senior IT professional, with proven experience of working at a senior level within a FTSE 100 (or equivalent) business. Possessing commercial acuity, able to easily identify with the business issues and proactively add value to business discussions. Business and service-driven rather than a pure technologist.
Able to bring significant added value in terms of thought leadership, breadth of knowledge and experience of IT within the services sector and deliver thought leadership and innovation for IT technologies.
Direct experience of working with Technology Shared Service using a mix of delivery channels including delivery partners and operating with offshore resources. Highly influential, with gravitas and credibility at a senior level. Strong stakeholder management capabilities and able to build trusting relationships with business leaders and peers within the IT function.
Organizationally and commercially astute and an agent of cultural change, they will be able to operate effectively within a complex corporate environment undergoing significant change, demonstrating integrity and embodying the Serco Values.
