12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Full-Time, 40 Hrs)


Here at Serco we are looking for an experienced FM Escort to join us at HMP Dovegate, Uttoxeter to work within the Facilities Management function. Reporting into the Senior Engineer / Facilities Manager, you will enable Contractors to perform tasks within the establishment in a safe and secure manner, ensuring the safety and security by compiling tool lists and when needed, assisting other members of the multi-skilled work force.


What you will need to do the role:


As FM Escort, you will carry out all duties assigned to you in a safe manner observing all statutory and local regulations. This will include ensuring that all Contractors and their tools are accounted for and managed securely at all times whilst within the establishment, including when they leave, in accordance with written instructions.


A key part of this role is to be pro-active and this will be achieved by commitment to customer satisfaction and striving for continuous improvement in your working approach including the ability to prioritise workload, using your own initiative and working in a logical and methodical manner to tight timescales.


You must have a flexible approach to work as well as some experience working in a security/custodial environment. Overall, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a team and taking pride in what they do as we are a tight unit within this function. Other key activities will include:


  • Assisting in multi-trade support of other members of the FM team in completing related routine maintenance and repairs but within the capabilities of their ability, experience and training.

  • Responsibility for the external areas, carrying out regular inspections, ensuring they are kept free from litter and are clean & presentable.
