The opportunity



 



This is an exciting opportunity to take on the PMO lead role in a 12 strong Programme management team, as we start the mobilisation phase of a two-year implementation and transition programme that will deliver a new BPO Operation in the Financial Services industry.  During the implementation and transition phase there will be upwards of 500 people involved in designing and delivering a cloud-based suite of applications and the subsequent Run phase will involve c.100 contact centre (onshore), c.400 back-office (offshore) and c.400 IT support and maintenance staff (offshore)​.  Although the design and delivery team will be based in Edinburgh and the governance team in London, this role can potentially be delivered remotely, but candidates should be able to undertake UK wide travel as required, and be fluent in business English.



 



Your day-to-day responsibilities include:



 




  • Managing a small onshore and offshore PMO team (3-6 FTEs)

  • Ensuring that the PMO service meets agreed contractual/Atos standards, liaising with the Program Director, Account Team and Client Team to maintain effective relationships.

  • Ensuring the project is closely following the applicable methodologies, including guiding project team members to ensure right standards are being used.

  • Organising program meetings (internally and externally) and ensuring actions are rigorously managed, facilitating problem solving and decision making.

  • Contributing to the set-up of a structured reporting mechanism (clear ownership, due dates, expected content & quality). Pursues quality and accuracy in all reports.

  • Reporting on the status of most critical project areas (risks & issues, finances, resources, planning & landmarks, deliverables & signoffs). Triggers actions & ensures the Project Managers / Stream Leads correctly run their own area of responsibility.

  • Setting up and maintaining a trusted Program Repository, with a clear structure, with proper access management (Internal & external) and naming conventions.

  • Handling & storage/archiving of project documents, all maintained in a structured CI record of all program artefacts & versioning.

  • Constantly looking to improve processes within the project team.

  • Managing the process for Program team staffing: resource creation & requests approvals for all project roles, including close collaboration with WFM local & global organization and Resource tracker maintenance.

  • Onboarding & Offboarding, following a well-defined process including induction and access management (repositories/tools/physical sites)

  • Financial management including ensuring Change Control and Forecasting processes are understood and followed

  • Communication support: including management of distribution list.

Skills we can’t do without:



 




  • Typically educated to university level (e.g. Bachelor or Master). Otherwise, may hold a relevant professional qualification.

  • 5+ years prior (IT related) project experience, preferably PMO experience, with a comprehensive knowledge of relevant development lifecycles & related processes

  • Has a proven record of realistic estimation and demonstrates the financial/cost awareness along with the customer facing and behavioural skills to take ownership for coordinating efforts across medium-large programs

  • Advanced knowledge or Experience in working with MS Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint) as well as with Microsoft Project

  • Has a validated structured thinking / understanding of how to run a process, with experience or awareness in terms of process definition, documentation, roll-out, implementation follow-up & process improvement

  • Has an advanced level (Atos University) of English to support a contract (negotiation, day to day project).



 



Skills we’d like:



 




  • Has a proven record of delivery within the FS&I sector and awareness of financial regulatory requirements.

  • Experience in international assignments/working internationally

  • Experience of Agile and / or Cloud based projects

  • Experience of creating reporting dashboards including use of tooling such as DOMO
